An Act Creating the Municipality of Alabel in the Province of South Cotabato

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. The barrios of Dumolok, Alegria, Cawas, Alabel, Bagakay, Pag-asa, Tocawal and Maribulan, in the City of General Santos, are separated from the said city, and constituted into a distinct and independent municipality, to be known as the Municipality of Alabel, South Cotabato. The seat of government of the new municipality shall be in the present site of Barrio Alabel.

The boundary between the Municipality of Alabel and the City of General Santos shall be the Buayan River.
Section 2. The first mayor, vice-mayor and councilors of the new municipality shall be elected in the next general elections for local officials in November, nineteen hundred seventy-one.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
