The scarcity of academic requirements in order to be named as genius never stop Andres to excel in the Philippines famous list of Filipino Geniuses. As pen became the symbol of superb brain power, Bonifacio became the symbol of hope for the Filipino nation. Bonifacio considered as the Supremo, he led the Filipino revolutionaries to fight and die with the cause for independence. The colonial rule of the Kingdom of Spain never became a hindrance to the so-called indios to combat against the giants.

Spain, a kingdom in the Iberian Peninsula, that in three centuries we consider a mother. But she never became an ideal mother. He smacked children and hit them, oppressed and let them die in her inseparable wickedness. All this and more, was seen personally, experience personally by the Supremo. The injustices in the society boosted the desire of the young Bonifacio to free his people and built a new nation prospered of the ideal leadership, justice and patriotism. Rizal, a Filipino Polymath, inspire the Supremo. Bonifacio been a member of the short-lived La Liga Filipina, a society established by Jose Rizal to seek assimilation and make Filipinas a Spanish province as well as Filipino representation in the Spanish cortes. Andres Bonifacio, an innate bibliophile, reads the novels of Rizal as well as other Nationalist articles abroad.

The Revolution of 1896, the first in Asia, opens the gateway to the Philippine Independence and inspired the rest of the world. Bonificio’s bravery and ingenuity propelled the momentum to start the revolution and mark the birth of the modern Filipino nation. The Cry of Balintawak, (in other sources: The Cry of Pugadlawin or Sigaw sa Pugadlawin) made the ferocious Spaniards to feel anxious and a hard time to sleep (insomnia). The relevance of the Philippine revolution of 1896, benchmark the climax of Filipino struggle. But the fight of Bonifacio still continue as modern colonialism and the unscrupulous imperialism plagued our precious land. Eventhough, that we are free now in the context of democracy but we should not deny the facts of injustices and the hasty poverty that overturn the Filipino society; its image and its deposition to the global platform.

A father, a strong pillar of a home, a colossal tireless provider. He care about his family and done all things to them. Bonifacio, is the father of independence. He was not bless to have a child by his own because he died in a very young age, but God is just and right  because he gave Bonifacio a nation of children. Children that will continue his legacy. The fight against societal cancers and the alarming terror treats are the contemporary problems facing by the sons and daughters of Andres Bonifacio. The search for new Bonifacio will takes so long but the hope to a better nation is still reachable and the horizon of good fortune will still shower to the Philippines. But the question is when. When to start was already answered. Bonifacio was already started the fight and to stop fight is not part of vocabulary of the modern sons and daughters of Bonifacio. I hope you are one of them.

Annually, we always commemorate the Bonifacio Day, the day allotted by the Philippine Government to honor the brave, genius, and martyr, the one and only Gat Andres Bonifacio. One day is not enough to thank a man who sacrifice a lot to his Motherland. A man who in his young age shown his great love to his countrymen. A man who had never a chance to enter school but had a boundless dedication to read and live the values of freedom and independence. But November 30, reminds us that every day is a struggle not only to the external treats brought by the imperialists but also to the domestic treats such us poverty, corruption in the government, schools and also in our own homes, malnutrition and violence. The Supremo, already made his part to the country and now we are call to do also our part. He might be not as strong as superman, not as smart as batman, and not as rich as ironman but he was real superhero to Filipino People. He is Bonifacio, a true nationalist and founding father of the modern Philippine Nation.
