 This old photo reminds us that we had a happy family — even in the midst of challenges, we could still smile and live life to the fullest.



In this memorable picture with my late husband, Allan Laya, my son Christian Jay Sope Laya, my younger brother Arnold Navarro Sope and his daughter Ferry Diana Sope, together with our close friends, the Maranguit sisters, we shared smiles as if there were no tomorrow in the timeless waters of Ladol, a glorious beach in Alabel full of cherished memories.

Elementary Days

Ang elementary ay simula ng isang kahanga-hangang paglalakbay sa walang katapusang pag - aaral at pangarap. Taong 2003, nag-aaral na akong maglakbay. Sisimulan ko ito sa unag baitang sa elementarya. Binalak ni ina na ipasok ako sa SPED ngunit kung anong bagay ang pumigil sa akin. Hindi ko binuka ang bibig ko at naging blanko ang isipan ko at dahil dun hindi ako natanggap sa SPED. Ako ay nag-grade 1 sa Alabel Central Elementary School (ACES), mas kilala ang mga mag-aaral nito bilang regular. Totoong nakakapanibago. Sa ACES naging guro ko sa unang baitang si Gng. Gloria S. Dema-ala. Section Dahlia ang aking kinabibilangang pangkat at marami - rami din akong natutunan sa unang exposure ko sa tinatawag na social world. Ang araw ko ay isang routine na nakapattern sa dalawang pang-araw-araw na pagkilos, una ay paggising ng maaga at pag-aaral ng mabuti. Sa unang taon ko sa elementary ay isang karanasang labis kong inaalala dahil maraming tagpo sa grade 1 ko na nakalimutan ko na....
